Menopause at Work: Survey Results Published!
Recently, Dr Louise Newson and Dr Rebecca Lewis compiled a survey aiming to explore the impact that menopausal and perimenopausal symptoms can have on women in the workplace. The questionnaire was completed by 1132 women and over 90% of respondents felt that their menopausal or perimenopausal symptoms were having a negative impact on their work.
As of 2019, evidence on the impact of menopausal and perimenopausal symptoms on women in the workplace is scarce; making this survey one of the first of it’s kind. It has been proven that there is a general lack of support at work for women who are transitioning into the menopause and Dr Lewis and Dr Newson will be presenting these results at the British Menopause Society meeting on the 4th-5th July.
